The workshop includes the following:

  • An interactive presentation on a relevant nutrition topic, in which participants will learn about nutrition concepts through a dance activity (30-45 minutes)

  • A master class including a warm-up and combo in the dance style of choice (Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop - 90 minutes)

  • A nutritious snack sample (Allergens will be considered!)

  • Nutrition Q & A

  • Free swag 

Additional Details:

  • The entire workshop is estimated to be approximately 150 minutes (2 and a half hours)

  • Workshops will be tailored to the age and skill level of the participants

  • An allergy list will be collected to ensure everyone can participate in the snack sampling

  • Pricing: $250 + travel expenses if the location exceeds a 30-mile radius from Sugarloaf, PA

    • A $50 deposit (included in the price) will be required to confirm the date/time of the workshop​

The Dancers' Dietitian Workshop

The Dancers' Dietitian Workshop combines nutrition and dance to provide dancers with a unique learning experience. 

The workshop includes:

  • An interactive presentation on a nutrition topic of choice (see options below), in which participants will learn about nutrition concepts through movement-based learning (30-45 minutes)

  • A master class including a warm-up and combo in the dance style of choice (Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop - 90 minutes)

  • A nutritious snack sample

  • Nutrition Q & A

  • Free swag

Presentation Topics

  • Macronutrients & Food Groups: Discusses carbohydrates, protein, and fats and the roles of these nutrients for dancers

  • Micronutrients:  Reviews vitamins and minerals of importance for dancers

  • Hydration: Discusses hydration recommendations for dancers

  • What to Eat on Rehearsal and Performance Days: Reviews what and how dancers should eat on rehearsal and performance days.

    • *Note: This topic is recommended for dancers ages 13 and up due to the complexity of this topic. This presentation builds upon the information from the others. It is suggested that participants have a basic understanding of nutrition prior to this lesson. This topic can be paired with another to enhance comprehension. ​
